The Galbis family has devoted itself to the catering business in the town of Alcoy since the early 20th century.
After the Spanish Civil War, Grandma Eulalia Doménech opened Casa Galbis de Gavarda, a restaurant popular among lorry drivers and travelling salesmen, situated next to the Júcar River.
In 1963, Antonio Galbis, son of Eulalia, moved out of his parents' home and went to live in L'Alcúdia. Later, assisted by his children, he managed to position Restaurant Galbis among the best.
